The Women’s Executive Network will honour the Vancouver-area women who were featured in Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women for 2008 at a summit and gala awards luncheon on Tuesday.

Vancouver-area winners in the financial services industry include Tracy Redies, executive vice-president of personal financial services and wealth management at HSBC Bank Canada, Tamara Vrooman, CEO of Vancity Credit Union, and Lisa Pankratz, president of finance at Mackenzie Cundill Investment Management Ltd.

The awards luncheon will celebrate the achievements of the most influential women in Canada, with a special focus on winners in Vancouver.

“We are currently facing uncertain economic times,” stated Women’s Executive Network founder Pamela Jeffery. “But at WXN, we are seeing that women remain committed to ongoing professional development and moving their careers forward – perhaps now more than ever. I believe this is partially due to the inspiration of the amazing women we are honouring today.”

British Columbia Finance Minister Colin Hansen will give a luncheon keynote address.

A special panel discussing leadership in turbulent times will feature winners Redies and Pankratz, as well as Kirsten Tisdale, senior client partner and office managing partner at Korn/Ferry International, Sue Paish, CEO of Pharmasave.
