TD Bank Financial Group today announced that two of its executives, Colleen Johnston and Teri Currie, have been named among Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women, by the Women’s Executive Network (WXN).
Johnston and Currie were selected in the Corporate Executive category, which recognizes Canadian women who hold the most senior position of any woman in Canada’s largest publicly traded and privately owned companies.
“I feel extremely proud and privileged to work with such dedicated and talented TD leaders,” said Ed Clark, president and CEO, TD. “The value Colleen and Teri bring to our organization is immense, and it’s no surprise to me that their outstanding leadership both in their careers and as role models in the community has been recognized at this level.”
Johnston is executive vp and CFO, TD Bank Financial Group. In her current role, she leads all finance functions across the organization, as well as Taxation and Investor Relations. In June, she was elected as a Fellow Chartered Accountant, the highest designation conferred by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario. Complementing her success in business, Colleen’s community volunteer and leadership activities include her role as Chair of the ShareLife Corporate Campaign and a member of the Mission Committee for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. She is a Director of the Bridgepoint Health Board and is actively involved in promoting diversity in the workplace as Chair of TD’s Women in Leadership Committee.
Currie, executive vp, human resources, TD is responsible for the global human resources function at TD Bank Financial Group. In addition to her business achievements, Currie has shown leadership in her community volunteer activities including her role as an active member on the Executive Council of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Ride and a Mentor for the Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council.
Under the leadership of WXN, the Top 100 awards program identifies and celebrates the 100 most exceptional and influential women in Canada. An independent Advisory Board has selected the winners based on defined, measurable criteria. The winners will be honoured at Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Awards Luncheon and Summit on Tuesday, November 21 in Toronto at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
