Toronto-based Women in Capital Markets (WCM) has recognized 16 corporate leaders as Champions of Change, the non-profit announced on Wednesday.

“Our Champions of Change, like those we are honouring today, are a critical driving force in innovating a new approach to gender diversity,” says Camilla Sutton, president and CEO of WCM, in a statement.

“Each Champion has been selected for their work, commitment and creativity in advancing progress,” she adds. “As our Gala’s theme suggests, this is a watershed moment and one that if leveraged with a new approach to change, can catapult Canada to the forefront of driving the labour force of tomorrow.”

The following Champions of Change will be honoured at the annual WCM Gala in Toronto on April 19:

  • Joanna Rotenberg, group head, BMO Wealth Management, BMO Financial Group
  • Deland Kamanga, gead of global fixed income, currencies and commodities, BMO Capital Markets
  • Michelle Khalili, managing director, private capital group, global investment banking, CIBC Capital Markets
  • Brad Black, managing director and global head, financial solutions group, global markets, CIBC Capital Markets
  • Christine Helsdon Tekker, managing director, head of Canadian credit, investment division, Manulife
  • Bernard Letendre, head of wealth and asset management, Canada, president and CEO, Manulife Investments
  • Linda Roy, managing director, fixed income and head, securitization, National Bank Financial
  • Sunil Bhutani, managing director, head of government finance and syndication, National Bank Financial
  • Nicole Musicco, senior managing director, public equities, Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan
    Jeff Davis, chief legal and corporate affairs officer, general counsel, Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan
