The Canadian Hispanic Congress and the Hispanic Business Alliance, both based in Toronto, have declared Ricardo Pascoe, executive vice president of financial markets for Montreal-based National Bank of Canada, one of the 10 most influential Hispanic Canadians.

“I am honoured to be included among the winners, individuals who all contribute, each in their own respective field, to Canada’s vitality,” says Pascoe in a statement. “I share this recognition with the bank and with my team. Its commitment to excellence translates into an exceptional client focus that is renewed every day and sustained performance in every respect.”

The announcement from the Hispanic Business Alliance notes of Pascoe’s success in the financial services industries in Canada, the U.S. and the U.K. as well as his community leadership through his participation in the Toronto branch of the United Way of Canada.

“National Bank is very proud to see one of its senior executives recognized as one of the 10 most influential Hispanic Canadians, as we are committed to promoting diversity,” says Louis Vachon, president and CEO of National Bank, in a statement. “The excellent performance that the financial markets sector records year after year is directly correlated to the strong and inclusive leadership of Ricardo Pascoe.”

Pascoe, who was born in Mexico and immigrated to Canada in 1980, received the accolade in Toronto on July 15. Other recipients included two journalists, a lawyer, a mathematician and a firefighter, among others. The program began in 2009 and has recognized 90 recipients from seven provinces since its inception.
