The Montreal Exchange (MX) is seeking candidates to serve as an independent member of the committee that oversees the exchange’s regulatory efforts.

The committee is appointed by the MX board and reports to the board on the MX regulatory division, which operates as a separate unit at the exchange.

The committee consists of:

  • at least 50% of persons who are residents of Quebec at the time of their appointment and for the duration of their mandates;
  • at least 50% of persons who meet the independence conditions applicable to directors of the exchange;
  • and at least 50% of persons who have expertise in derivatives.

Applications from eligible candidates are due by March 9.

Following an evaluation of the applications, the special committee will make a recommendation to the MX board, which will then nominate the new member.
