AIC Ltd. has completed 12 previously announced fund mergers, the mutual fund company announced on Monday.

The company received a positive recommendation from its independent review committee for the mergers in September. It received regulatory approval in October and security-holder approval in November.

As a result of the mergers, investors in the terminating funds have become investors in the corresponding continuing funds. The dollar value of the investors’ investments in the terminating funds was transferred to the respective class of the continuing funds.

Additionally, as previously announced, three funds will be renamed on Dec. 15:

> AIC Private Portfolio Counsel Canadian Pool to be renamed AIC Canadian Equity Fund; and

> AIC Private Portfolio Counsel Global Fixed Income Pool to be renamed AIC Global Fixed Income Fund; and

> AIC Private Portfolio Counsel U.S. Small to Mid Cap Pool to be renamed AIC American Small to Mid Cap Fund.
