TD Bank Financial Group today announced that four of its executives have been named among Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women, by the Women’s Executive Network (WXN).
The four women are Andrea Rosen, Colleen Johnston, Diane Walker, and Barbara Palk.
Rosen, Johnston, and Walker were selected in the corporate executive category. Palk was nominated in the trailblazer category for being a first in her field and for making a great contribution to Canadian society.
“In one word, outstanding. I’ve always felt our executive leadership team is second-to-none and it’s very rewarding to see others agree on a national level,” said Ed Clark, president and CEO, TD, in a statement.
Rosen, as vice chairwoman, TD Bank Financial Group and president, TD Canada Trust, oversees operations of TD’s personal banking unit.
Johnston, as executive vp, finance operations, is responsible for financial reporting, performance measurement and planning, and business decision support across all of TD’s businesses including TD Securities, TD Canada Trust, TD Wealth Management, and TD Waterhouse. She is also responsible for the bank-wide implementation of Sarbanes-Oxley 404.
Walker is executive vp, TD Bank and chief administrative officer, TD Waterhouse U.S.A. She was among the first women appointed as an executive vp of TD when the bank acquired Canada Trust in early 2000.
Palk, as senior vp, TD Investments, and President, TD Asset Management Inc. (TDAM) manages the investment management businesses of TDAM.
Palk is heavily involved in the community, having actively spoken to, and encouraged women to pursue non-traditional roles throughout her career. She sits on several distinguished boards, including the board of trustees at Queen’s University as well as being the vice chair of its Investment Committee.
Under the leadership of WXN, the Top 100 awards program identifies and celebrates the 100 most exceptional and influential women in Canada. An independent advisory board has selected the winners based on defined, measurable criteria.
The winners will be honoured at an awards luncheon and on Wednesday, November 10, at the Westin Harbour Castle Hotel in downtown Toronto.
