The Financial Advisors Association of Canada, known as Advocis, has launched a free online service to connect financial advisors with small business owners who need assistance in this uncertain time.

Small businesses across Canada can apply through an online form to access Advocis Connect, the association said on Monday.

Business owners will then be paired with a volunteer financial advisor who can provide advice and answer questions regarding government relief programs that may be available to them.

“Through Advocis Connect, we are working with our 13,000+ members across Canada and dedicating resources within our association to coordinate them effectively so that small business owners across the country can weather this unprecedented storm,” said Greg Pollock, president and CEO of Advocis, in a statement.

Kind Wealth, a Toronto-based fee-only advisory practice, is also offering assistance to Canadians amid the coronavirus outbreak. The firm has partnered with other individuals and organizations to offer free personal finance consultations for anyone struggling with financial stress and anxiety related to Covid-19.

“During these times it’s important we come together and support one another,” said Kind Wealth founder David O’Leary.
