The Autorité des marchés financiers announced that its industry Complaint Reporting System is to expand nationwide.

As of July 1, the CRS, which was launched in 2005 by the AMF and the Financial Services Commission of Ontario, will be accessible to the entire Canadian insurance industry. The online system is designed to facilitate compliance by industry firms with their consumer complaint reporting requirements.

The AMF reports that over the past year, the regulatory authorities of Alberta, Prince Edward Island, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, Saskatchewan, Newfoundland and Labrador and the Yukon entered into an agreement with Quebec and Ontario for the use of CRS as a complaint reporting tool in their respective jurisdictions.
