The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) is tapping a handful of new lawyers to join its Securities Proceedings Advisory Committee (SPAC), which provides feedback and advice on policy and procedural initiatives involving proceedings that are heard by the regulator’s administrative tribunal.

The five new members include: Laura Paglia from Borden Ladner Gervais LLP; Daniel Bach of Siskinds LLP; Susan Kushneryk with Hansell LLP; Ryan Morris of Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP; and Bruce O’Toole from Crawley MacKewn Brush LLP.

The new members replace seven members of the committee who saw their terms expire this month, including well-known Bay Street lawyers such as Wendy Berman of Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP; Emily Cole from Miller Thomson LLP; and Linda Fuerst Norton Rose Fulbright Canada LLP.

The SPAC is comprised of 10 to 12 lawyers who serve three-year terms on the committee, along with staff of the OSC’s enforcement branch and its Office of the Secretary.
