The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) on Thursday announced the members of the Investment Funds Products Advisory Committee (IFPAC) for the 2017-2019 term.

The IFPAC lineup features a selection of members from buy side and sell side firms.

The committee, which is chaired by Melissa Schofield, senior legal counsel in the OSC’s investment funds and structured products branch, includes Atul Tiwari, the head of Vanguard Investments Canada Inc., along with representatives from other buy side giants, such as BlackRock Asset Management Canada Ltd., RBC Global Asset Management, AGF Investments Inc., Sun Life Global Investments (Canada) Inc. and Manulife Investments.

The new members also include representatives from BMO Capital Markets, CIBC World Markets Inc., Canoe Financial, Portland Investment Counsel Inc., Periscope Capital Inc., and Sigma Analysis & Management Ltd.

Marian Passmore, COO, Canadian Foundation for Advancement of Investor Rights (FAIR Canada), is the group’s sole representative of investor interests.

The new members are appointed to two-year terms, effective immediately.

The committee advises OSC staff on policy initiatives and developments in the investment funds and structured products industry.
