A new trial in the case of former investment banker Andrew Rankin will begin next February, the Ontario Securities Commission said Thursday.
The trial has been scheduled for six weeks from Feb. 18 to March 28 next year, with a week off for March break in the middle. It will be held in Toronto.
Rankin is a former managing partner at RBC Dominion Securities who is accused of 10 counts of tipping a friend about pending takeover deals between 1999 and 2001. He was convicted in 2005 following a high-profile trial, but the decision was overturned on appeal and a new trial was ordered.
