Members of the Mutual Fund Dealers Association of Canada have elected two new industry directors, the MFDA said Tuesday.

The two candidates who received the highest number of votes in an election held earlier this month are: Sonny Goldstein, president, Goldstein Financial Investments Inc.; and Vince Valenti, president, Independent Planning Group Inc.

On October 6, the MFDA sent a package to the executive office of each of its members containing a ballot intended for the selection of two industry directors at the 2009 annual general and special meeting. On October 20, a reminder was sent to those that hadn’t voted, and voting concluded on October 21.

It reports that 65 of the 145 members voted, with Goldstein and Valenti receiving the highest number of votes.
