The Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC) is shifting to virtual conferences this fall.

Citing public health concerns, the industry SRO said that it will not be holding any in-person conferences, and will instead offer a series of shorter, virtual events to examine subjects such as its regulatory agenda, enforcement issues and lessons learned from the pandemic.

The virtual conferences will be provided for free, and continuing education (CE) credits will be available, IIROC said.

“These virtual conferences will allow industry participants from across the country to participate together in pan-Canadian sessions for the first time in IIROC’s history,” it said.

IIROC said that it will consider offering a combination of both live and virtual events in 2021.
