On Wednesday, the U.S. Commerce Department reports on housing starts and building permits in January. Economists forecast 530,000 starts and 525,000 permits, annualized.

The U.S. Federal Reserve Board reports on industrial production and capacity utilization in January. Economists expect industrial production to fall 1.4%, and the capacity utilization rate to come in at 72.5%.

On Thursday, the U.S. Department of Labour reports on the producer price index for January. Economists expect a monthly increase of 0.2%, 0.1% excluding food and energy.

Separately, Labour reports on initial jobless claims for the week ended Feb. 14. Economists forecast 615,000 claims.

On Friday, U.S. Labour reports on the consumer price index for January. Economists expect a monthly increase of 0.3%, and a year-over-year drop of 0.1%.

On Tuesday, Dundee REIT releases fourth-quarter results, as does Winpak Ltd., Wal-Mart Stores Inc., and Home Capital Group Inc.

On Wednesday, Rogers Communications Inc. releases its fourth-quarter results, as does Agnico-Eagle Mines Ltd., Kinross Gold Corp.. Finning International Inc., Canfor Pulp Income Fund, Loblaw Cos. Ltd., Penn West Energy Trust, Commerzbank AG reports, Société Générale SA, and ING Groep NV.

Hewlett-Packard Co. reports first-quarter results.
