CE Network Inc. and the Montreal Exchange’s Derivatives Institute have concluded a strategic alliance to meet the continuing education requirements needs of financial advisors.

The Derivatives Institute is the training and education service of the ME.

The alliance includes the launch of a dedicated Web portal at www.totalce.com where advisors at client companies be able to enroll and complete courses.

Courses are designed specifically to meet the multiple continuing education requirements of the Canadian securities, financial planning and life insurance industries.

The joint venture offers clients 28 course titles and over 80 credit hours of programming. Subjects include diverse titles on derivatives, ethics, estate planning, retirement planning, investment strategies and market performance. Advisors can participate in engaging multimedia learning experiences in both French and English.

“We were particularly interested in CE Network’s North American experience in gaining the individual adoption and completion of online courses,” said Biran Gelfand, Director of the Derivatives Institute, in a news release.

“The Derivatives Institute’s position as the premier Canadian online educator for sophisticated financial instruments made the decision to join forces easy for us,” added Ted Root, President of CE Network. “Now advisors can choose from courses that range between the most sophisticated securities-related topics to more general financial planning topics.”

Both Gelfand and Root point out that their courses were designed from the ground up by professional instructional designers specifically as web-based training and have earned outstanding evaluations from financial advisors.
