(February 23) – The Securities Industry Association is hosting an eBusiness Strategy Conference on April 11 and 12 in Chicago.

The conference will aim to examine the needs of financial firms in the new economy. It will look at how securities firms are utilizing the Web and their competitive positioning. The headline speakers are Chuck Martin, chairman and CEO of the Net Future Institute, speaking on successful Internet strategies, and Henry McVey, the influential financial services analyst from Morgan Stanley Dean Witter & Co., who will look at the strategies in place in the financial industry sector.

The conference will also include a panel on e-business chaired by Marc Lackritz, president of SIA, and including Leighton Huske III, president and director of Branch, Cabell & Co.; Robert Mazzarella, president of Fidelity Brokerage Services Inc.; and Suzanne Richardson, president of fbr.com.

Assorted workshops will also cover: “From Concept to Launch: Managing Your Countdown to Success”, “Building an Identity On-line”, “Converting Institutional Business to an eBusiness World”, “Changes in Market Structure and Their Impact on eBusiness”, “eMetrics: Measuring Performance and Transforming Hits into Real Business”, “Navigating and Managing Structural Change” and “Identifying Strategic On-line Growth Opportunities”.

The conference will be held at the Renaissance Chicago Hotel from 08:30 to 18:00 CT on Tuesday, April 11, and 08:30 to 12:45 CT on Wednesday, April 12. The registration fee is US$595 per attendee for SIA member firms and US$895 for non-member firms.
