Qtrade Investor, the online brokerage division of Qtrade Securities Inc., Wednesday announced lower pricing that takes effect on November 1.

Online stock trades will be priced at $9.95 for clients with as little as $50,000 in an account, down from a previous threshold of $100,000. Multiple accounts within the same household can be grouped together to qualify for the discount.

Online fixed income trades will be priced at a flat fee of $1 per $1,000 in face value of bonds being traded. The minimum fee will be $19, with a maximum fee of $200. Commissions for fixed income trades are now simple and transparent, with no built-in dealer spreads.

The new fixed income pricing matches changes recently announced by Scotia iTrade.

Qtrade Investor also announce that it is the first online brokerage firm in Canada to offer a truly comprehensive stock, option and mutual fund trading platform available for Canadians on their mobile phones.

With the brokerage’s MobileWeb, investors can check account balances, transfer funds, stay current with market data and, of course, trade online with their mobile phone!

Qtrade Securities Inc. is a member of the Qtrade Financial Group, which provides brokerage and wealth management platforms, services and solutions to the retail public as well as the customers of over 180 financial institutions across Canada.
