(June 30 – 12:30 ET) – The Mutual Fund Dealers Association is taking its drive for recognition as a self-regulatory organization for mutual fund dealers on a cross-country, 18-date tour.
The MFDA will be hosting a series of two-hour workshops in various cities across the country to help dealers and reps understand the MFDA, the proposed rules, and the changes that will be wrought on the industry as a result.
The Ontario Securities Commission published the MFDA’s SRO application for comment on June 16. The industry has 90 days, or until mid-September, to get their comments in. Both the MFDA and the provincial regulators are encouraging firms to digest the proposals and get their comments in. These workshops aim to speed that process by giving firms a leg up on the rules and their implications.
