Manulife Investments, a division of Toronto-based Manulife Asset Management Ltd. on Wednesday announced portfolio manager changes to two of its mutual funds subadvised by by Calgary-based Mawer Investment Management Ltd.: Manulife Diversified Investment Fund and Manulife Tax-Managed Growth Fund.

As previously announced, Craig Senyk will be president of Mawer, effective Jan. 1. To focus on his new role, he will step down as lead manager on the two funds, Manulife says in a news release.

Mawer to remain independent

Senyk’s appointment to president will follow the Dec. 31 retirement of Mawer’s current president, Michael Mezei, who has held the position since joining the firm in 2008. Mezei will continue to serve on the firm’s board of directors through 2019, Mawer says in a news release.

Travis Goldfeldt, already a portfolio manager on both funds, will take over lead portfolio manager duties, and Steven Visscher will be added to both funds as co-manager.
