Jarry Javasky of Mackenzie Financial Corp. was named Analysts’ Choice Fund Manager of the Year at the 2002 Canadian Investment Awards presented last night at the Royal York Hotel in Toronto.
The awards identify the leading investment management companies and managers, as well as various marketing, service, education, philanthropy and technology initiatives within financial services industry.
As voted on by a committee of 19 industry analysts and 21 categories, the peer group has awarded top honours to:
- 2002 Career Achievement, James F. O’Donnell, O’Donnell Capital Mgmt; and
- 2002 Fund Company of the Year, AIM Funds Management Inc.
There were five new analyst awards categories added this year including:
- Foreign Bond Fund of the Year, AGF Global Bond Government Fund;
- Canadian Income Trust Fund, Talvest Millennium High Income; and
- International Equity Fund, Mawer World Investment.
As voted online by the Canadian Advisor community, the winners of the top awards are:
- 2002 Advisors Choice for Education, Mackenzie Financial Corp.;
- 2002 Advisors Choice for Best Fund Company (sponsored by Investment Executive), Mackenzie Financial Corp.; and
- 2002 Advisors Choice for Service, AIM Funds Management Inc.
As voted online by the Canadian Investing public, the winners of the top awards are:
- 2002 Investors Choice for Fund Company, Fidelity Investments;
- 2002 Investor Education, Mackenzie Financial Corp.; and
- 2002 Investors Choice Service, Fidelity Investments.
As submissions are voted on by a special industry peer group of executives, journalists and strategic partners and providers, the winners are:
- 2001 Marquee Marketing Award for Best Overall Campaign, Clarica Life Insurance Co.;
- 2001 Imagine Mutual Fund Community Investment Award, Investors Group;
- 2001 Best Use of Technology, AIM Trimark Investments Web site;
- 2001 Best Overall Initiative, Fidelity T-SWP; and
- YMCA Investment in Values Challenge Awards, Aegon Capital Management.
