(February 21 – 10:00 ET) – Guardian Group of Funds has launched another RSP-eligible foreign equity fund, the Guardian RSP Global Technology Fund. That brings its RSP fund line-up to seven.
The Guardian RSP Global Technology Fund aims for long-term capital growth in tech stocks by tracking the underlying Global Technology Fund, managed by Dresdner RCM Global Investors of San Francisco. Dresdner follows a bottom-up stock-picking strategy.
“Maximizing foreign exposure not only offers the prospect of higher returns, it can also lower the volatility of one’s portfolio, although technology has historically been a sector with higher than average volatility,” says Gavin Graham, Director of Investments at GGOF.
“Because Canada represents such a small percentage of global stock capitalization, spreading assets among different markets and asset classes makes investment returns less dependent on any one market or sector’s performance.” Guardian now manages more than $2.1 billion in 30 funds.
