Toronto-based Excel Funds Management Inc. is hosting a nationwide income generation roadshow focusing on the attractive opportunities offered by emerging market bonds.

The roadshow will include exclusive speaking conferences for investment advisors in Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal from January 16-18.

The tour will bring financial advisers exclusive access to Sergei Strigo, head of emerging market debt & currency at Paris-based Amundi Asset Management; the sub-advisor of the Excel EM High Income Fund and one of the world’s largest asset managers with nearly $1 trillion of assets under management.

Strigo is calling the yields on emerging market bonds very attractive and is in Canada to discuss the benefits of investing in this growing asset class.

“The majority of emerging market bonds are investment grade and offer much higher yields with many of these nations carrying very low debt-to-GDP ratios,” explains Bhim D. Asdhir, President and CEO of Excel Funds. “The asset class can bring many significant diversification benefits to a portfolio and is attracting increasingly more attention from retail and institutional investors.”
