(February 2 – 09:30 ET) – Vorg Inc., the organizers of the 5th Annual Canadian Mutual Fund Awards Gala, has conducted a recount. One result has changed
Vorg says that the winner of the award for best new initiative for 1999 should be Mackenzie Financial Corp. for its 100% RSP eligible foreign fund structure. Initially the award went to Royal Mutual Funds for the Royal Precision Index funds.
The firm says the data collected from a panel of 24 industry analysts was incorrectly merged. Once that data was properly re-categorized, and ballots re-tallied, Mackenzie came out on top.
Vorg says it “wishes to offer our sincerest apologies for any confusion. All possible steps will be taken to ensure proper data management in future.” It also insists that all the other awards have been confirmed to be correct as they were initially announced.
