Susan Wolburgh Jenah is the newest board member of Montreal-based Laurentian Bank of Canada. Isabelle Courville, the board’s chairwoman, announced the appointment on Wednesday.

The former president and CEO of the Toronto-based Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC) is one of 13 board members at the bank. Wolburgh Jenah’s appointment confirms its commitment to female representation on boards, says the bank, as thirty-eight percent of its directors are now women.

Wolburgh Jean was president and CEO of IIROC from 2008 to 2014 and held the same role at IIROC’s predecessor the Investment Dealers’ Association of Canada from 2007 and 2008. Wolburgh Jenah also held senior positions at the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) between 1983 and 2007.
