State Street Global Advisors (SSgA), the investment management business of State Street Corp. (NYSE: STT), Thursday announced the appointment of Peter Lindley to president and head of investments for SSgA in Canada.

Lindley, who has previously held other senior positions within the organization, will report to James Kase, head of global sales and marketing for SSgA.

Lindley joined SSgA in 2005 and has more than 20 years of experience in the fixed income and derivatives markets. At SSgA, he previously served as head of investments and fixed income and as a senior portfolio manager on the fixed income team. Prior to joining SSgA, he served as co-head of global markets for Deutsche Bank Canada in Toronto.

“Peter’s strong leadership and deep expertise will be instrumental in delivering innovative investment solutions to our Canadian clients,” said Kase.

As head of Investments, Lindley will collaborate across asset classes to drive the development of new strategies.

Senécal to head fixed income and cash

SSgA also announced that Denis Senécal has joined as head of fixed income and cash in Canada. Senécal joins SSgA from Caisse Centrale Desjardins, where he was a vice president in treasury, responsible for asset-liability management, securitization and interest risk management. He will report both to Mark Marinella, SSgA’s global fixed income chief investment officer, and to Lindley.

To continue the momentum SSgA has achieved in advancing its business in Canada, Patrice Denis has been appointed head of distribution and will be responsible for all client-facing activities specific to the region. Denis has been with SSgA for six years and in his previous role as head of business development and relationship management, he played an important part in establishing and building client relationships across Canada.

Marilina Mastronardi, head of investment operations in Canada, will expand her role to also serve as SSgA Canada’s chief of staff working alongside Lindley to coordinate professional support functions.
