José Placido has been appointed executive vice president, institutional and investor services, RBC Global Services.

RBC says the appointment recognizes the strong leadership Placido has brought to its highly respected global custody, investment administration and correspondent banking businesses.

“José’s industry knowledge and unwavering focus on the needs of our clients has contributed greatly to the success of our global transaction processing enterprise, which is highly regarded around the world,” said Martin Lippert, vice chairman and CIO, RBC Financial Group, in a news release.

Placido has held increasingly senior positions with RBC Global Services, including most recently senior vice president, institutional and investor services, VP of relationship management and client service delivery, and head of RBC’s global custody operation in London, U.K.

Placido continues to be based in RBC’s Toronto head office.
