BMO Capital Markets announced it has hired Adele Morrissette as managing director in the firm’s business services group.

Morrissette’s mandate is to expand the team with additional coverage of the marketing services industry. She will be based in New York and report to Susan Wolford, managing director and head of the business services group.

“Marketing services is an important and growing sector that is also benefiting from increased online marketing spending. Adele is a knowledgeable partner who can help our clients take advantage of emerging opportunities,” said Wolford. “Adele is joining an experienced team who delivers to our clients specialized industry expertise and the capital strength of a leading North American full-service financial institution.”

Most recently, Morrissette was a managing partner of North Haven Partners, a boutique investment banking firm she founded and which specializes in Internet marketing and technology-enabled business services. Previously, she was a partner and managing director at Cowen & Company, where she focused on the media and digital media industries. She also worked in mergers and acquisitions at Bankers Trust Co. and in the investment banking group at L.F. Rothschild, Unterberg, Towbin.

Morrissette has an MBA from the Tuck School at Dartmouth College where she has been a member of the Dean’s MBA Advisory Board. She graduated with a BA from Wellesley College with Honors as a Wellesley Scholar and is a member of the college’s Business Leadership Council.
