Moody’s Corp. today announced an executive shuffle that means a new head for its Canadian arm.

Andrew Kriegler, formerly Moody’s managing director and country manager for Canada, is replacing Jennifer Elliott as chief human resources officer for the corporation. Elliott has been named group managing director for Moody’s Investors Service Asia, succeeding Thomas Keller who has been appointed group managing director, Global Project Finance and Structured Finance Business Development. Donald Carter has been named managing director and has been appointed the new country manager for Canada.

Kriegler will be responsible for the global HR activities of Moody’s Corporation, including recruiting, employee relations, compensation and benefits, training, organizational development and HR information systems.

Carter will oversee Moody’s Investors Service’s Canadian operations with responsibility for directing and coordinating the company’s ratings and research businesses in the country.

Kriegler joined Moody’s in September 2000 as country manager for Canada. Prior to joining Moody’s, he held investment banking positions with BMO Nesbitt Burns and CIBC World Markets and was a treasury executive at Canada Trust. He received a BSc in Computer Science and Economics from Trinity College in the University of Toronto and holds an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.

Carter joined Moody’s in 2001 as a vice president – senior analyst in the Telecom/Media sector. He was promoted to senior credit officer in 2003 and senior VP in 2005. Prior to Moody’s, Carter held senior positions in Canada at Bank of America, Bank of Montreal and Citibank. He has an MBA from University of Michigan and an undergraduate degree in accounting from Concordia University in Montreal, and he is a CFA charterholder.
