Martin Glynn is stepping down as president and CEO of HSBC Bank Canada next month to head up bank’s U.S. operations in New York.

He will be replaced by Lindsay Gordon, currently chief operating officer of the Canadian division.

Glynn has held the top post at HSBC Canada since 1999, and last spring was named COO of HSBC North America.

Gordon, a 17-year veteran of the bank, will formally take over in October.

The executive moves were part of a larger corporate reshuffling unveiled yesterday by London-based HSBC Holdings PLC, one of the world’s largest banks.

William Dalton announced he would retired as CEO of HSBC Bank PLC next May at the company’s annual meeting.
