Dominion Equity Resource Fund Inc. has named William Bonner as its new president. Bonner replaces Dean Prodan, who resigned as president to pursue other opportunities. Prodan will continue to serve Dominion Equity as a member of the board of directors.

Bonner will also continue to serve as a director of the corporation, a role he has fulfilled for the past five years.

Bonner’s appointment coincides with the previously announced intention of Dominion Equity to engage Network Portfolio Management Inc. as the mutual fund’s investment advisor.

Founded by Bonner in 1997, Network Portfolio is a Calgary-based portfolio management company focused on Canada’s energy sector. Network currently manages approximately $120 million in assets.

Bonner has over 23 years of capital markets experience concentrated in Canada’s energy sector.

Following a successful engagement with Wood Gundy,. Bonner joined Peters & Co. Limited in 1984 where he served as managing director of institutional sales and trading and as a member of the executive management committee. In his 13 years with Peters & Co., Bonner assisted more than 50 oil and gas companies with financings aggregating to over $2 billion.
