Raymond Desrochers, a partner in BDO Dunwoody LLP Chartered Accountants & Consultants, has been appointed to the Canada Revenue Agency board of management.
Stan Keyes, Minister of National Revenue, announced the appointment of Desrochers, who was nominated by the province of Manitoba. The board is comprised of 15 members, 11 of whom are nominated by the provinces and territories and appointed by the Governor in Council.
While the Minister of National Revenue retains full accountability to Parliament and to Canadian citizens for all CRA activities, the board of management is responsible for the organization and administration of the agency and the management of its resources. “The board of management gives us access to the best business practices from the private sector,” said Keyes. “The expert advice and experience they bring to our operations is invaluable.”
