The Consumers Council of Canada has added a representative of the Small Investors Protection Association (SIPA) to its board.
Five new board members joined the Consumers Council of Canada last week, including Robert Kyle, executive director of the retail investors’ advocacy group, SIPA.
Joining Kyle on the expanded board are Karen Girling, a corporate communications specialist; Robert Martin of Freelance Ink, a consulting company; Marylou Hilliard, executive vice-president, McDonnell Haynes Integrated Communications; and Kathy Levine, a lawyer and former policy advisor at the Ministry of Consumer and Business Services for Ontario.
“These new members bring a broad range of needed experience and expertise to the Council”, said Joan Huzar, president of the Council, in a news release. “They’ll be of immeasurable help to us in tackling such issues as energy, insurance, banking, food safety and the other issues that the Council delves into on behalf of the public”.
