The latest composite leading indicator readings are signalling improvements in growth for most major economies, with diverging trends apparent among emerging markets, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) said Wednesday.

The Paris-based OECD says that the indicators for Canada signal a positive change in momentum.

Indicators also point to economic growth above trend in the United States and Japan, and to growth firming in the United Kingdom, the OECD says. For the Euro area as a whole, indicators continue to signal a gain in growth momentum.

Indicators also point to growth returning to trend in China, and to a tentative positive change in momentum in Russia, it says. But for Brazil and India, indicators continue to signal growth below trend rates, the OECD adds.
