Alternative trading system TriAct Canada Marketplace LP said Tuesday it will donate all trading fees generated by its dark pool, the MATCH Now marketplace, on Nov. 21 to the sports-focused charity, Right To Play.

Clients who route orders to MATCH Now on Nov. 21 will automatically contribute to the effort, the firm says; adding that this is the first time a Canadian ATS has donated all of its daily trading fees to charity.

Toronto-based Right To Play is a global organization that uses sports and play to educate and empower disadvantaged children. It says that it helps one million children per week, in more than 20 countries, to build essential life skills and better futures through sports participation.

“We believe that sport and play is an important part of every child’s development and the funds raised by this special day will help Right To Play continue empowering youth,” said Torstein Braaten, CEO of TriAct Canada Marketplace LP. “More and more investors are using MATCH Now to execute trades in a fully confidential manner and we’re hoping to have a big day on the 21st for Right To Play.”

“We are very fortunate to have the support of organizations such as TriAct Canada Marketplace LP,” said Kevin Taylor, vice president, philanthropy, at Right To Play. “It is through fundraisers and the generosity of the community that we are able to continue our work with youth.”
