TD Bank Financial Group today released its fourth annual corporate responsibility report. Entitled “Involved for Generations,” the report accounts for TDBFG’s community, economic, social and environmental performance primarily in Canada.
The report complements TDBFG’s 2005 annual report to shareholders.
During 2005, TDBFG was included on the Jantzi Social Index, a stock index of 60 Canadian companies that pass a set of social and environmental screens. Additionally, Synovate’s Customer Service Index survey ranked TDBFG No. 1 among major banks for excellence in overall quality of customer service, the bank says. TDBFG also received the Outstanding Corporation Award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals Toronto Chapter based on leadership in philanthropy and community involvement.
As one of Canada’s largest corporate donors, TDBFG donated $27.5 million to charities in communities across Canada, it said in a release. TD’s Friends of the Environment Foundation, for example, funded over 900 grassroots environmental projects and the TD Canada Trust Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup achieved the largest ever coordinated cleanup of aquatic environments with more than 36,000 Canadians.
The report is available online. Printed copies will be available later this month and can be obtained by visiting any TD Canada Trust branch.
