TD Asset Management Inc. today said it has established an independent review committee to act as an impartial judge to review any potential conflicts of interest within its fund families.
The company is manager of TD Mutual Funds, TD Managed Assets Program Portfolios, TD Private Funds and TD Emerald Funds fund families.
“The mandate of the IRC is to act as an impartial and independent committee to review and, if appropriate, provide approval or recommendations respecting any conflict of interest matters referred to it by TDAM. The committee consists of four independent members, whose terms range from two to three years,” TD Asset said in a press release.
The IRC members are: chair Paul Moore, counsel with Bennett Jones LLP; R. Peter Gillin, chair and CEO, Tahera Diamond Corp.; Warren Moysey, chair, Aviva Canada Inc.; and Hap Stephen, chair and CEO, Stonecrest Capital Inc.
“We’re pleased to have such a distinguished group lending their expertise to our IRC,” says Tim Pinnington, president, TD Mutual Funds.
“The depth of experience and breadth of knowledge they bring to the table will be a valuable complement to our existing governance practices.”
