(July 6 – 10:40 ET) – Sun Life Financial Group Retirement Services today announced the introduction of a new group RRIF program.
The program will assist retiring members of company-sponsored group plans with the transition from saving for retirement to generating retirement income. The program enables plan sponsors to support their retiring plan members by offering them many of the same benefits and services they enjoyed as active members of a group RRSP.
“The Sun Life Financial Group RRIF program is unique in that it provides members that are approaching retirement with many of the same investment options offered in their group plan. In addition, they receive the education and service they need to feel comfortable with the decisions they have to make when converting their retirement savings into an income stream,” said Mary De Paoli, assistant vice president, sales and marketing for group retirement services.
In addition to the products offered in this program – RRIFs, LIFs, and LRIFs – retiring plan members receive comprehensive information, toll free access to client service specialists, 24 hour access to their account via the Internet and two hours of free consultation with a financial planner from T.E. Financial Consultants Ltd.
The program is offered through employer- sponsored group retirement plans with Sun Life Financial. Group retirement plans are administered by Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada,.
