Capital Group has appointed Sophie Orru as vice president and wholesaler serving Quebec, the Los Angeles–based global investment management firm said in a release on Tuesday.
Orru comes with 20 years’ industry experience and most recently served as a wholesaler with Franklin Templeton Investments in Eastern Quebec. Prior to that, Orru worked as an inside wholesaler at Invesco Canada and spent several years in retail banking and investment sales at National Bank of Canada.
Capital Group recently launched a French website and aims to continue growing its Quebec-based sales and marketing team, the release said.
Orru will work in both French and English to support financial advisors across the province.
“Quebec is a very important market for Capital Group and I’m honoured to be the first wholesaler based in the province,” Orru said in the release. “With my industry experience, I look forward to continue building the brand and growing the business across the province of Quebec.”
Orru will be based in Quebec City, as well as Capital Group’s office in Montreal.
