(June 26 – 10:30 ET) – Scotiabank and e-route inc. announced today that the bank will offer electronic bill presentment to its customers through the e-route network this fall.
“At Scotiabank and our e-commerce subsidiary e-Scotia.com, we are committed to providing Canadians with the widest range of innovative e-banking and e-commerce services,” Albert Wahbe, president of e-Scotia.com and executive vice president of Scotiabank’s electronic banking, said in a press release. “e-route will offer our customers convenience and choice in how they receive and pay their bills online.”

e-route inc. is expected to launch its first bill presentment and payment solution for Internet-based banking this fall. Scotiabank has joined five other financial institutions to offer Canadians access to this network. Several national bill presenters have already signed on to participate in e-route’s network.
