Interbank market-making services in gold and silver for spot, forwards and options will be offered by RBC Capital Markets, the corporate and investment banking arm of RBC Financial Group.

“We believe the timing is very opportune given the recent volatile conditions in the gold market and it will help to relieve the reduced liquidity caused by the withdrawal of this market-making service by two other banks earlier in the year,” says Jason Henderson, managing director and head of FX derivative products, RBC Capital Markets.

The trading team is comprised of Gerry Robinson and Clare Cork, who trade gold and silver on the interbank spot market, both as market makers and servicing client needs. Shane Chenery and Allen McAfee will perform the same market-making and client functions in options and forwards, respectively.

In addition, the RBC team also includes David Holmes and Paul Merrick, both senior sales people, specializing in commodities, in particular bullion, working with mining, central bank and investor clients.
