Toronto-based online brokerage Questrade Inc. has announced a new program that is says will appeal to active traders with more data requirements, and features $4.95 flat stock trades, a technical analysis tool, and market data rebates.

The Questrade Advantage is open to everyone. There are no minimum balances to maintain and no trading activity threshold. The sole qualification is subscription to Questrade’s advanced Canadian or advanced U.S. market data packages. Each data package costs $89.95 per month, and clients are eligible for data fee rebates based on trading activity.

A video on the advanced data packages is available on YouTube and in the Exchange, Questrade’s online trading community.

Jeff Beck, Chief Marketing Officer of Questrade says: “We wanted to make $4.95 flat stock trades available to all our clients. The Advantage had to be a program anyone could join. So we eliminated the idea of making trading activity or asset level a condition of joining. Instead, we added it as a benefit to our advanced market data packages. Then to sweeten the deal, and to reward our clients who trade a lot, we offer a way for clients to get their entire data subscription rebated.”

Until August 31, and to celebrate the launch of the IQ suite of platforms, new and existing clients who open an account with a minimum of $10,000 will get 100 free trades. New and existing clients who open an account with a minimum of $1,000 will get 10 free trades.
