(October 26 – 15:00 ET) – The Office of the Surperintendent of Financial Institutions has published updated guidelines for capital requirements for comment. The guidelines were last have updated in 1995.
The capital adequacy requirements for banks and other federally-regulated financial institutions are being updated to reflect the various interpretations and modifications that have been made by OSFI. The revised guidelines combine the loan guidelines for banks and trusts.
OSFI says that the current guidelines remain in force until the updated version has been finalized. Institutions are invited to comment by November 22, through their industry associations.
