LOMA has partnered with Independent Financial Brokers (IFB) to offer online continuing education to members. IFB provides continuing education to Canada’s financial services professionals through its Summit Education program.

Atlanta-based LOMA will provide IFB members access to more than 20 different LOMA courses required for Life License Continuing Education in most jurisdictions. Subjects offered include life, disability and critical illness insurance, investment and underwriting concepts, annuities, sales skills and customer service.

The courses are delivered in an interactive, Web-based format and allow members to complete them at a convenient pace. IFB members can register for LOMA courses online at www.ifbc.ca.

LOMA says the initiative will particularly benefit members in remote locations and those who discover continuing education requirements as they near license renewal.

“The value of this partnership is to make essential industry education more accessible for employees,” says Jeff Hasty, senior vp, assessment, development & best practices at LOMA. “Continuing education and professional development empowers these individuals and leads to increased performance, as well as employee retention, which is the win-win for member companies and their employees.”

“E-learning is the perfect complement to the one-on-one style of education offered at IFB Summits,” says IFB education committee chairman Doug Vanderburgh. “LOMA is the ideal partner to meet the needs of the association and provide outstanding benefits to its members.”

With 1,200 plus member companies in over 80 countries, LOMA is a leading global provider of insurance and financial services education, IFB Web site.
