ING Direct has enhanced its iPhone app to support the iPad, the Canadian online bank said Monday.

ING Direct’s app now supports the iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch which gives Canadians access to all banking products and services available on its existing mobile banking apps.

It supports landscape and portrait views while enabling clients to check their account balances, review transactions, transfer funds, locate ABMs, buy and sell The Streetwise Funds, and get directions and hours of operation for the ING Direct Save Your Money Cafés.

The app also provides Canadians a simple means to follow ING Direct on Twitter to talk about Savings.

“Canadians are among the most tech savvy in the world and they embrace new and exciting innovations such as the iPad,” says Peter Aceto, president & CEO at ING Direct Canada.

“We’ve always been accessible 24/7 and now these new devices ensure Canadians can do their banking, save their money and save their time, anywhere and at any time with ease and simplicity.”

The iPad, iPhone and iPod touch apps are all available in the Apple App Store or at itunes.com/appstore.

ING Direct’s BlackBerry app is available at m.ingdirect.ca on BlackBerry devices or by visiting BlackBerry App World at BlackBerry.com/appworld.
