Each week, we summarize notable moves across the financial industry.

  • Jennifer Mersereau and Patrick Sommerville have been named co-CEOs of Hamilton Capital Partners. They had both been appointed co-presidents last July. Mersereau was a co-founder of the ETF provider in 2009, and was previously director, equity investments at National Bank of Canada’s alternative investments arm. Sommerville joined Hamilton ETFs in 2013 as managing director of business development. Before that, he was VP of sales at Front Street Capital. Rob Wessel, a co-founder of the company and managing partner, had been acting CEO and has since taken on the role of executive chairman. Peter Jelley, president and CEO of Bulldog Capital Partners Inc. has also been appointed as an independent director of Hamilton ETFs’ board. He replaces Robert Brooks, an original board member who passed away in November.
  • Jason Jack and his team at Jack Financial Inc. have joined Designed Wealth Management. Jack was previously with Investia Financial Services (part of iA Financial Group) and brings more than 22 years of experience as a certified financial planner to the firm.
  • Tommaso Mancuso has been named global head of investments at 3iQ Corp. Mancuso was a co-founder and chief investment officer at Shikuma Capital, a London-based global macro hedge fund launched in 2021. He has more than two decades of investment industry experience, including 12 years at Hermes Investment Management as executive director and head of multi-asset.
  • Helena Gottschling has joined the board of the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) as an independent director. Gottschling was a former human resources officer at RBC before retiring in 2022. She replaces Janet Woodruff, who has resigned from the board. Woodruff served on CIRO’s inaugural board and as a director of CIRO predecessor Mutual Fund Dealers Association of Canada.
