Kingston, Ont.-based Empire Life Insurance Company has been named the Best Life Insurance Company in Canada in 2014 by World Finance magazine in its annual insurance awards competition. This is the second year in a row that Empire Life has achieved this recognition.

The award is given annually to recognize a progressive company that shows leadership in the industry and a commitment to improving the relationship with their clients.
World Finance cited the launch of the Fast & Full Life Application process (the first electronic life insurance application process in Canada that includes full electronic underwriting, electronic payment and electronic signature) resulting in improved efficiency, and the company’s commitment to ongoing product and service enhancements aimed at ensuring customer satisfaction, as key reasons why the company was selected for the award.
The World Finance Awards have been recognizing outstanding financial service companies around the globe since 2007. The magazine invites its 120,000 readers each year to nominate companies in their respective countries. A panel of independent judges then reviews the finalists, looking at a number of criteria, including financial performance, operational efficiency, client relationships, community investment activities and leadership in the industry.
