The Ontario Securities Commission has Friday announced the new members for its Securities Advisory Committee, which consults with the commission on a wide range of market issues.

In September, the OSC sought applications for positions on the SAC, which provides advice to the commission on a variety of topics, including legislative and policy initiatives, and important capital markets trends.

In Friday’s OSC Bulletin, the commission announced seven new members of the SAC who will start in January 2011.

Joining the committee for a three-year term are:
Grant McGlaughlin of Goodmans LLP; Tina Woodside from Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP; Robert Wortzman with Wildeboer Dellelce LLP; and Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP’s Heather Zordel.

Joining for a two-year term are: Robert Black from Davis LLP; Steven Cohen of Burnet, Duckworth & Palmer LLP; Peter Hong from Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP; and James McVicar of Heenan Blaikie LLP.

Next fall, the OSC will seek new members to begin terms in February 2012.
