The Ontario Securities Commission has consented to a cooperative agreement between the Mutual Fund Dealers Association, l’Agence nationale d’encadrement du secteur financier (Autorite) and the Chambre de la securite financiere in Quebec.
Under the agreement, the Autorite, the Chambre and the MFDA will co-ordinate their various regulatory functions with respect to MFDA members and their reps operating in Quebec.
The objectives of the agreement are to avoid regulatory inefficiencies and to preserve and enhance the respective separate mandates of the Autorite, the Chambre and the MFDA.
Alberta, British Columbia, Nova Scotia and Saskatchewan have also consented to the MFDA entering into the agreement.
