The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) has announced the newest members of its key policymaking committee, the Securities Advisory Committee (SAC).

The OSC published a notice Thursday naming four new members for the SAC: Douglas Bryce from Osler Hoskin & Harcourt LLP; Carol Derk of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP; Shahen Mirakian of McMillan LLP; and, Sean Vanderpol from Stikeman Elliott LLP. They will serve on the committee for the next three years.

The committee provides advice to the OSC and its staff on a variety of matters, including legislative and policy initiatives and important capital markets trends; it also brings various issues to the attention of the commission and staff.

The commission will publish a notice next fall inviting applications for the next group of new SAC members, who would commence their terms in January 2014.
